What Mark Do You Want to Make?

A note from Jodi

As we near Thanksgiving and the new year, I am reflecting even more than usual about our world and my role in helping to make this world better. For almost 20 years my work had been focused on ending the inequities in our country's public schools. As a coach with a deep focus on empowering mission-driven people and organizations, my work is helping individual people and organizations make their mark in their way.  My question for you this month is: What mark do you want to make?

Two ways I've been helping clients make their mark recently is through preparing them to succeed in job interviews and helping them craft a work style that allows them to be effective and efficient. Read below for highlights on those offerings.

I'd love to hear from you, ponder this month's question and/or explore how I can help you make your mark. In addition to the two offerings below, check out our website for our suite of services.

Interview successfully

I prepare you to nail your interviews. I focus on different aspects of job interviewing depending on what you need.  Examples include:

  • Doing mock-interviews and giving feedback on both content and how you come across

  • Diving into your competencies and strengths so you are clear on which skills to highlight and how

  • Learning how to interview virtually

  • Helping you focus on how you want the interviewer to FEEL about you after the interview, not just what you want the interviewer to know about you

  • Helping you with the STAR (Situation, Tasks, Approach and Results) approach to interviewing

  • Getting clear on your values and how you want those to show up during interviews

  • Ensuring you are clear on what the job requires so you can present yourself best for that job (and similarly that you know about the organization and WHY you want to work there.)

Be effective and efficient

I help you develop a way of working that allows you to be effective and efficient.  We tackle things like:

  • Building the best system for you to keep track of your work and meet all deadlines

  • Developing a method for balancing long-term, near-team and short-term priorities

  • Devising a triage system for those crazy days when everything needs to happen NOW

  • Designing and maintaining a functional work space

  • How and when to communicate with others to increase your effectiveness and productivity
