ARE YOURS ALIGNED?

I recently attended a two-part workshop provided by The T-Rowe Price Foundation on Reimagining Revenue for nonprofits that was led by Spectrum Nonprofit Services.  One of the takeaways for me was to double down with my clients on the concept that impact strategy and financial strategy have to align. Take a look at this Matrix Map tool. For you mission-driven nonprofit leaders, this is a great way to assess how your impact strategy and financial strategy are driving you towards or away from your goals. It's also a great tool to use with your staff and/or Boards to create a shared vision for what you want your Matrix Map to look like a year from now, or three years from now, etc.

This type of framework works at the individual level, too.  This summer, I've been leading a Women Leaders' Cohort focused on Deliberate Impact. As I "do" the program with the participants, I created my goals and impact timeline for the next three year. Among those goals is to continue to grow this thriving business (financial strategy) while remaining an engaged and involved mom, wife and friend (part of my impact strategy).  This means slowing down enough to know when I'm on the right path and when I'm not. This also means checking in with my clients, and family and friends to get their input on what's working for them and what I might change.

We're half way through 2021. What do you want to check-in about and with who?

As always, I'd love to hear from you. Let me know what shifts you need to make to align your financial and impact strategy whether for your organization or yourself.

Happy Summer,

Jodi
